Bigslickpoker NLH Tournament, Abbeyleix Manor Hotel Fri 28th October

    Following the success of last years event, we (Abbeyfest) are again running a NLH tournament as a fundraiser for the Abbeyfest festival. Both the event and also the festival are non-profit, all proceeds go to various charities and causes in the region.

    Bigslickpoker are running the night for us, incl. TD etc.
    Last year we had 100 players on the night, with a prize pool of €3600 paid out to the final 10 (from a cheaper buy-in). We are expecting between €4000-€5000 prize pool this year. There were also 3 cash tables running 'til late.

    Winner also wins seat at Clonmel Coursing €40k event in Jan.

    1. Who is running the event (organisation, society etc.)
    -Bigslickpoker & Abbeyfest

    2. The purpose of the event (charity, commercial etc.)
    -Non-Profit: fundraiser for Abbeyfest Abbeyleix, an annual festival aimed at raising money for and awareness of various local charities & causes. This festival began in '09, with the Poker event beginning in 2010

    3. Date and Location of event
    - Fri 28th Oct. Abbeyleix Manor Hotel, Abbeyleix, Co. Laois. (5mins m7/m8, portlaoise jtn)

    4. Registration and Start time of event.
    - Reg 7.30pm, Start 8pm

    5. Any prerequisites (member of club, society etc)
    -none

    6. How can tickets be purchased & is there a maximum number (in advance, at the door etc.)
    - at door, max 140

    7. Type of Tournament (Hold'em/Omaha etc Freezeout/Rebuy etc.)
    No Limit Hold'em. 1 top-up/rebuy for €20

    8. Cost of entry and any subsequent rebuys/top-ups etc.
    -€40 buy-in, €10 reg, €20 top-up (1 max)

    9. Cost of registration
    - €10

    10. % of entry fee/rebuys/top-up going into Prize fund
    - ALL buy in goes into prize pool. 10 reg to fundraiser. top-up 50/50

    10a. Is any money from the prize fund held back for future tournaments, if so, how much
    - €200 for ticket to Clonmel Coursing event in Jan included in prize.

    11. Any guarenteed prize pool.
    - no, €4000 est. (2010 event paid out €3600, from cheaper entry fee)

    12. If applicable, Number of re-buys allowed and over what time frame/blind levels.
    - max 1 rebuy/top-up by first break only.

    13. Starting Chips
    - Note: Final detail is all TBC by bigslick as they are running it but i'd imagine 8k

    14. Rebuy and Top-up chip amounts.
    - 7k (TBC)

    15. Blind levels
    TBC

    16. Blind timeframes
    20 min x 3, then 15 min thereafter. (TBC)

    17. Places being paid and if any prizes are other than cash (free entry to
    other tournie, merchandice etc)
    - top 10% places paid. (Last year 10 players paid out)

    18. Are there going to be dealers - and their level of skill
    - yes, some but not all tables as event is non-profit, fundraiser

    19. Will there be a documented list of rules
    - yes, bigslickpoker tournament rules

    20. Is there a tournament director
    - yes, Dermot, bigslickpoker

    21. How are disputes handled - who has final say.
    - TD has final say

    22. Are there any cash games offered, if so, please outline the rake for each limit offered.
    -Yes, plenty of cash action, as with last year. Raked at 5%


    We are expecting to improve on last years fantastic showing of 100 players, and event is being advertised on radio, print, online etc.
