This is more of a rant, as I've been left in the cold (literally) once again by Dublin Bus.

I'm having regular problems with the evening 16/16a southbound from Beaumont to south city:

    - They don't seem to be following the time table at all.
    - The RTPI is completely inaccurate in the evenings; buses appear 'due' and then never turn up.
    And, most annoyingly of all:
    - a 16C will turn up even when a 16 or 16A is due. This is incredibly frustrating when I need to get to the southern suburbs and being left off at O'Connell St is no use to me.

I know there are roadworks on Swords Rd at the moment, but that doesn't explain this shoddy service! Can anyone on boards explain?

For the record, I am generally quite happy with Dubkin Bus, but these past few weeks have been awful with them.

Anyway, off for another long wait in the cold whole my fingers freeze off...

Just to add to this I used to get the 16/16a to town from Rathfarnham and even that leg of the journey is slow and annoying. I have seen many times 4 or 5 16/16as in a row!! arrive, and I have a 20-30minute wait (if lucky) for the next one (being stuck on the other side of the road when I see them sailing past :(). This surely shouldn't be happening!
I have also found that when I got the 16 from the terminus a few times (Balinteer) a driver who has parked up on the oposite side of the road to do the return journey instead goes through the roundabout without starting again, I don't know if this means the driver has worked his hours but its a bit suspicious when they park on the oposite side of the road for a few minutes and then head off!
I have also witnessed these buses "breaking" down, sometimes at a distance where it made more sense for me to do the 15 minute walk home than wait for another, I've seen some of these supposidly broken down buses pass me on my walk home! Now there may be honest reasons for this, I don't know, but its happened more than once. Thankfully not had to use that bus in months :)

    Nick
