When you book train tickets online when con you collect them..?
Anytime or on the day the ticket is for..?

If you think it will get better replies in Train and Rail Systems, please move it.

You can collect prebooked tickets at any time but if buying tickets in the booking office or from one of the machines you cant buy them in advance so if you buy a single ticket today it must be used today and for a return ticket the outward journey must happen today or you lose that part of the ticket and the return part can only be used in the opposite direction.

    Not correct.

Booking office can issue any ticket up to 3 months in advance, you must specify the start date for the ticket to ensure it is valid for your requirement. Typically monthly/weekly tickets are available a few days before they become valid due to avoid confusion and fraud.
