Hi all I just bought a 03 tdi VW passat and would like some advice on lowering it.I dont want it too low just low enough to have about a 1inch gap between the tyre and the arch.I know coilovers are the best way to go so can anybody give me advice on where to have it done and how much id expect to pay.Ive also noticed alot of coilover kits on ebay can anyone recommend a good quality set and where I could go to have them fitted.

    Cheers

    www.vagdrivers.net

All the info you'll want by posting this thread, and you'll have offers of coilovers/springs etc 2nd hand, or from site traders.

Also.... "a 1inch gap between tyre and arch" means nothing. Thats all relative to what tyre profile you run. What size wheels etc etc etc.

You'd be better off with a set of Eibach spring's.

    Why?

    Why?
Nice, well made spring's with progressive spring rate, nice lowered stance and specifically made spring's for every car out there, bonus is you save a whole lot against coil overs, and they have a very good guarantee.

Those coilovers on ebay are good enough for the money...but I'm assuming your only looking for a 30mm drop so springs would do...something like apex or gmax or eibach if you get them cheap enough.

I just bought a white passat 02 , got lowering springs and a set of 19" AMG 477. And I was looking for the same advice, how low do you think I should go, for it to be not too low , would 60 mm do?
