Not on until Friday, so I'll add a poll on Saturday morning.
(If I add it now, some dingbat would vote for it before then, guaranteed...)

I cannot understand for the life of me why polls only work sometimes when you tick the box :(

I have today off and I woke up this morning thinking it was Saturday, realised it wasn't and got a little depressed that I wasn't watching Fringe. :(

I may have some terrible news.

Because of the so called "world series" if Texas Rangers win Fringe goes ahead, if the cardinals win Fringe gets bumped.
Apparently the pansies cant play their so called sport in the rain

Yes, awful news indeed but it is simulcast in Canada though so it may still show up on the radar.

Fringe is back on Sky One next Wednesday 2nd Nov at 10pm.

Just taking the week break like the US. So whe the US stops showing it again Sky will follow suit.

What an amazingly bad time to have a two week break as well

Got up this morning expecting fringe but absolutely no sign of it on my htpc. Disappointment is not an expansive enough word.

The thing is, with the delay it then means that the fall finale 4x08 would air on the Friday of Thanks Giving week which normally wouldn't happen i.e that Holiday Friday is a no-man's land for ratings due to the whole country heading off for the weekend (bit like our Christmas changes normal tv scheduling) So, wouldn't be surprised if 4x07 and 4x08 are a 2hour finale. Either that or the worst outcome which is 4x08 doesn't air until the new year.

It's been confirmed that Nov 18 is the fall finale in USA ( which means it will end on 4x07) and returns January 13th. Posted on @maskedscheduler 's twitter ( he schedules all fox shows)

This Friday, it was delayed a week due to bad weather delaying the baseball "world" series.

Fringe | While speaking with Joshua Jackson for an upcoming feature, I tried to elicit intel on the much buzzed-about return of
big baddie David Robert Jones (played by Jared Harris). His response to my earnest appeal for scoop: “Uh, no.” He then explained, “I don’t want to give away the why [of Jones' return], because if you’ve been watching from the very beginning it’s a very satisfying reveal.” Jackson did offer that “from a personal standpoint, the fact that we’re basically going to go back to Season 1 and rehash all of that stuff is super-cool.” In fact, he said that DRJ’s comeback tale — which was originally set as a winter finale cliffhanger but will now unspool after the holiday hiatus – is “the best of the stores I’ve been involved in since I’ve been back.” Featuring all of the characters from both universes and heaps of mythology, he raves, “It’s the whole enchilada.” BONUS FRINGE BENEFIT! The Inside Line can report that ingenue Alexis Raich has been cast in an episode currently in production as Emily, a teen who has a strange, dark gift that she believes to be a curse, but at the end of the day may be very helpful to our Fringe Team.

I watch it on Sky1 on a tuesday so does that mean that it will be back on Tuesday 8th?

They should have postponed the baseball.

On the plus side; woohoo, Fringe tonight! (assuming it isn't postponed again, please say it's not)

    dun dun dun!
so does that mean the glasses agent (i cant remember his name again) when he said he was just going back to the hotel, he's a shapeshifter now too?

I guess so, either him or the woman who gave the file and that dosent seem likely considering shes just a nameless pion

I was thinking maybe Peter is a shapeshifter. (Probably Wrong) Broyles said that Peter was a 99% match to Walter's DNA and then later on Peter was talking about how the shapeshifters can change DNA now.

One of the strongest shows on TV at the moment.

Wouldn't explain how he knows so much about fringe, Walter and Olivia etc.

I'll admit I was there with you when he started talking about that. But 99% match is about as reliable as they can get in those tests I think

i thought they were going to use peter waffling on about the new shapeshifters to think *he* was a shapeshifter and arrest him

it was a 99.7% probability. In statistical terms (looking at a bell curve, for example), there's a significant difference between stating something with a 99% probability and a 99.7% probability..

^ i thought the shapeshifter was the agent who handed the file to Olivia?...i don't think Broyles/Lee/Olivia or Peter are shifty!...great ep. though, glad to have Peter back!, we did get an explanation too, paradox....The Observer interfered by saving young Peter and as such was forced to correct his mistake, which he hasen't obviously.

There must be a reason Peter was not erased, he must figure into the overall arc and endgame, imo it'll be Peter who gets killed to save both universes, they also signalled a third or more universes also.

Interesting in the new timeline Nina adopted Olivia!...more to that me thinks.

Even in DNA tests you never get a 100% hit, usually 99.997%, i don't think i means much and not signalling Peter is a shifter.

^ i thought the shapeshifter was the agent who handed the file to Olivia?

So that agent went to the desk behind Olivia and picked up the file then handed it over to Olivia?

The first thought that came to me was something to do with Olivia and the timeline, don't ask me how or what 8) that's what I like about fringe don't know what the fudge is going on!

Exactly, in paternity tests done in Georgia they tested 249 men in an experiment to consider adjusting the legal level you must be at to be considered the father and 2 of the men tested at 97% and 99.3% who were not the father.

IIRC the experiment proved that although there is no magic number, anything above 99.9% is certain and above 99.6% is considered to be certain for the purposes of the law (this is because, I think, it became a mathematical improbability when they compared the number of possible outcomes to the number of people on the planet; or something along those lines).

I wouldn't put it past Fringe to throw out something like that, but I think it would make the Peter story way too complex even for a show like this and I think they would have done it differently... only time will tell though.

The timeline repeated?....i thought that myself for a moment, but more likely it's a shapeshifter at work.

wait, didnt they have a timeline thing in the earlier eps?
maybe it really is that again

i was thinking shapeshifter, but either it was a shapeshifter being the first agent and then the second agent had made her own copies of the report or something? doesnt make much sense

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 151 ✭✭lemd

Don't the shapeshifters kill the people they copy and turn their skin translucent? I think it was some sort of time hiccup.

It was a glitch in the Matrix :)

I wasn't clear in my earlier post; I was implying that at a 99.7% match then that is a practical certainty (and 99.7%, not 99% is what Broyles said), so I was concurring with the assertion that Peter is who he says he is.

I shouldn't post first thing in the morning. Clear I sometimes do not myself make.

I didn't think it had the usual Fringe pace or gripping storyline this week. Was quite disappointed. I was surprised by all the positive votes, guess I'll have to watch it again and reevaluate.

But Peter being a great, good or imperfect match means little when the new shapeshifters can exactly replicate the dna of whoever they clone. That's what Clomo52 was talking about.

Meh to that! We need a Christmas episode now, something fun. Not in a tacky, OTT, Hallmark way, but Walter can make some special pudding or eggnog (wtf is that, seriously?), Olivia can decorate the tree whilst Broyles sings carols. It'd be more fun than Brown Betty.
