Electric Front Window Problem

i was putting my window up today i thought i heard a gritting sound as it was going up, then as teh day went on it was noisier and eventually refused to come up i was afraid that it might shatter to be honest i tried to have a look at it and from what i can see the steel cable seems to be shredded and caught in the wheel…

I just want to know what might be a good suggestion is it a big job and if someone wants to Pm me as to advise me who might assist me with repairing it please

Its your window regulator. Got one for my car Friday, 50 euro new. Probably looking at the same price to fit it!

Quick fix is to use your passenger door as spare parts. I did it before on a Mondeo and then went to a car breakers to get the part I needed.

Window regulator. Price of part & labour can vary greatly. Is it a vw group car?
