Which uses more electricity, electric shower or immersion tank?

    Just wondering which is the cheaper option, one of those electric showers tht heat the water up immediately, or flicking the immersion on for an hour or so for a shower using the bath taps.

    Electric shower most probably, as you only use the exact amount of water you need to the drop.

    The esb will advise you that the electric shower is more efficent than the emmersion.

    The mains shower eg t80 is more power efficent than the pumped electric eg T90

    However if you have for example gas heating then you are already heating a tank of hot water so the most efficent option for you would be a shower valve.
