It must be a slow news day if the TV3 news team consider the dangers of fish pedicures to be headline news

Compare that to RTE who have actual serious and relevant news in their early news lineup

TV3 current affairs in general isn't at the races with the exception of Vincent Browne. It's oriented toward making money from morning to evening, so you have pseudo-Joe Duffy Mark Cagney in the morning frothing with stupid indignation, the 'loose women' at Midday talking about smacking kids, and we used to have Ursula Halligan at 5pm on a Sunday asking Trevor Sargent about his potato garden.

The news falls into that general trend. In the days before Xpose it even had Lorraine Keane on doing a 'celebrity goss' segment right there in the latter half of the programme.

RTE gets a lot of flack, but if you relied on TV3 news you'd get a very bowdlerised world view indeed.

I'm sure the Xposé team think it's headline news...they're probably all headed for the clinic in the morning...
