Damaged iPad2 Advice

    Hi all,

A friend picked me up an iPad2 in the States recently. I live in Dublin my friend is in Galway so arranged a courier to deliver it from Galway to Dublin. Unfortunately when I opened it the screen was smashed - glass everywhere. Not sure (or will never know) if this happened on way back from the US or from Galway to Dublin.
Anyways, needed the iPad as a gift over weekend so had to go buy a new one on Friday evening (expensive weekend I know!). Got some advice from the Apple people in CompuB and it seems just the glass needs to be replaced on the original iPad. LCD seems to be working fine. This costs €149. So when I get the glass repaired it will basically be a brand new never used iPad2 with just a small dent on the outer casing beside where the charging cable is connected. The repair guys maintain this won't affect it at all - its just cosmetic.
So what I'm planning on doing is putting it up for sale (will tell the story of what happened to it / small dent etc.)
Anyone any idea what I should realistically look for it? I'm thinking about €350-€380 mark. It's never been used and will work perfectly. Only issue will be the small dent on the outer casing.
Is this a fair price do you think?

    What model is it?
Given that it's a damaged one, it sounds like a fair price though.

If you're upfront as you say you will be and buyers could inspect it, then that price seems fair.

    that seems a fair price
€150 is a decent price for the repair also

Seems like a decent enough price. Let me know when you put it up, would be interested.

You can pick up a replacement screen for about €45 on ebay. The replacement procedure is actually not that bad but will require a heat gun which you can pick up for about €15.

I would happily pay €350 and I am sure there are many out there who would do the same.

What about selling it as is and let someone who knows how carry out the repair themselves. Sell it for 350 and the right person would snap it up and you wouldnt have to absorb the full cost of the repair. If you had a copy of the receipt, this could help you sale
