Afternoon all. One of the lads in the job has asked me to pop this up.

He has a 05 320 diesel. 160bhp variant. Cars not here, so I can't get more info. Basically wondering is it a timing belt, or timing chain?

A chain made of chocolate money. Like all BMWs, it works fine until you try to start the car.

Its the reason the german luftwaffe didnt do suicide bombing... youd be headed for the deck and a warning light would come on (not that they were flying bimmers but you know what i mean!)

They used BMW engines though. German fighter pilots generally complained about overheating and not being able to catch up with Spitfires without a remap.

    No change then :D

Thanks again folks. I was 99%, but thought I'd ask the, ahem, "experts"!

After getting the info, another of the lads asked about his X- Type diesel. It's a 07, and iirc, that has the 2.2 Mondeo engine? Again, belt or chain?
