I just got 2 enormous pumpkins in supervalu for only €1.60! Display said €1 each, but came up on receipt as "pumpkin giant €1" and "pumpkin large €0.60". I could hardly carry them home :) Not sure what weight they are, but are 38" and 36" in diameter.

I'm also growing my own pumpkins out the back, but even my biggest one wont get anywhere as big as these by halloween.

Get them now, they will keep till end of the month (and longer)!

Tis a good idea to get your pumpkins now.

All the big ones will be gone soon!

As a side, does anyone know where you can get a scalpel or similar to carve them with?

ha, ha, I guess I am :D was born in america so they've always been a big deal in our house.

Was really surprised how cheap they were today, I left it too late last yr & paid nealy 10 quid for 2 crappy ones the sat before halloween.

You'll want something stronger than that. I used something big from a knife set last year. Pumpkins are tough bastards.
