Samsung Galaxy S11 and bluetooth

    Hi Guys.

My work recently changed from BlackBerry to Android for Corporate reasons. I chose the new top of the range Samsung Galaxy 11 1900. :(

Apart from the fact that it is really not a business phone and can not do most things in Email or messaging or calendar that the BB can I am having a mother of a job trying to get it to connect to most Bluetooth devices. It seems to be very fussy on what it connects to and this sometimes even includes other Samsung phones. I have checked the spec sheet for the radio I use (new Sony) and the Samsung Phone and they appear to be one and the same but do you think the phone would even pick it up.............?

Is anyone else experiencing similar problems and or do you know if there is a fix available for it.

Another thing is that the battery only lasts about 6 hours if I use it for work. Surely this can not be normal

Oh to be fair the phone does have a good camera

    Hugh

You don't say how your Blackberry was set up but I presume when you say "can not do most things in Email or messaging or calendar that the BB" you mean that your SGS2 hasn't been set up to sync mail, contacts and calendar with your email system? The Android system is perfectly capable of doing this but I would guess that yours hasn't been set up properly. You should talk to whomever configured it for you.

Regarding the bluetooth, I have a SGS2 (which I use for work and it really is a business phone...) and haven't had any issues connecting it to any bluetooth device. You probably need to put your radio into 'pairing mode' before the phone will pick it up. The manual that came with the radio should have instructions on how to do this. If it doesn't, reply here with the make and model of the radio and I'll be happy to help you in getting it working.

Regarding the battery, I'm afraid that the battery life in iOS or Android phones is nowhere near as good as Blackberrys but you still should be getting more than 6 hours on it. Check to see if the phone is set up for 'Push' email with your work server. If so, this is a huge battery drain. Have it sync every 5, 10 or 15 minutes instead and the battery should improve.

Hi Mr Bloat. I can assure you that it is set up correctly but it doesn't do tasks or memos or in the email it can not easily cut and paste. nor does it recognise names from the contact list or times and dates for inclusion in the calendar. All of which were standard in the BB.

The radio is the Sony xpold and the pairing was done perfectly according to the manual. In fact all other phones pick it up without difficulty.

Maybe there is something wrong with my phone
