    Hi,thanks for the heads up.

Where do you get these 20% off vouchers from??

Are they in a Woodies catalogue or something??

    Thanks.:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,177 ✭✭✭oneweb

    Thanks OP! :)

Where does one sign up for these? I was asked by someone who works there to hunt them down for last weekend!

    It is what it's.

It says on the voucher that you could win €1000 shopping spree voucher. In the trems and conditions it says employees of Woodies DIY arenoe elegible to enter.

Is it a case that they're given out to employees, so that they can pass them on to ordinary punters maybe.

Oh. And thanks OP for them.

Thanks OP, it says on half the vouchers that they can be used in Atlantic Homecare also, so looks like this is not just for Woodies..

So is this a legit Woodies offer to All the actual public or not????

Its pointless in posting this and say that theres 20% off,but then saying that the vouchers were only given out to Woodies employees.

How or where does the general buying public get these 20% off vouchers???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,509 ✭✭✭viking

Yes, members of the public can avail of this offer. Have used the vouchers before several times.

I don't care where they came from, they work fine and that's enough for me :)

Right,so can you answer my other question then???

    Where are these vouchers then???

Because I dont see Woodies announcing them or handing them out in their shops or any flyers at the main entrance to any of the shops.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,509 ✭✭✭viking

The OP attached the voucher to his post :S

Seriously, who cares whether Woodies announced them or not? Either use them or don't...

What did I ask you again?????

So what are you saying, you download and save that PDF file, print that out on an A4 paper and go to Woodies and say, give me 20% off????

I asked the manager in Woodies,Coolock about this offer today, and he didnt know what I was talking about.

You've obviously never printed and used a coupon or voucher before, because yes, thats usually how it works ;)

You dont need to make a mountain out of it. Print it, bring it. If they accept it then great!

These vouchers haven been posted in the past a few times, and I don't remember hearing problems with them. You might have been just unlucky with the manager you were dealing with. If you are making a purchase and they reuse to take them, you can leave the stuff behind.

"IF" being the important word here, because the manager in Woodies,Coolock to me different today.

He said there was no 20% off promotion this weekend comming

Eh,actually when Woodies have a 20% off or half price weekend, they have employees outside their entrance doors handing out flyers and vouchers to the public(1 item per customer).

Thats how it has worked before,as Ive qued up at 8am on various Saturday mornings,in the past to get good deals from Woodies.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 15,858 ✭✭✭✭paddy147

However I will print off the voucher and stick it in the managers face tomorrow so.Then see what he says.

These vouchers are issued to the staff and suppliers of Woodies. Staff are encouraged to pass them on to family and friends.

The vouchers posted by the op are valid this coming weekend and are valid in all Woodies and Atlantic stores.

The discount is not valid in conjunction to other discounts etc or on lawnmowers, sheds or showers.

That's because you didn't bother to read the voucher. The offer isn't available at the moment. Only on the dates specified on the vouchers themselves.

Listen here smart ar5e,some of this thread was cleaned up and posts deleted. You were not here to read all the posts, but you still think you are being the smart one here, when you are not,far from it actually.

The manager told me that there was no 20% off deal this weekend comming (dates listed on that PDF File). It was allready previously stated here by me,prior to the thread being cleaned up and various posts deleted by the mod.

Try copping on before posting a smart ar5e post or even attempting to be smart.

I didn't come onto this thread to be called names, though I don't really mind all the same. My point was to highlight the fact that the vouchers have conditions attached to their validity. That point seemed to have been lost in the tidy up.

I'm not sure how me copping on would help anyone here.

There's hardly a bargain alert thread you post in that you don't get into a tizzy of an argument with someone, so I've made my point and leaving it at that.

Well then dont jump to conclusions and try to be so smart with someone and post such a smart ar5e post when you were not here and dont know the entire thread and what was posted earlier on here.

Have you any intention of buying something in Woodies this weekend?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 716 ✭✭✭phil1nj

I've used these several times before with no problems at all. A friend of mine works for a supplier company to Woodies and he regularly gets these sent to him via email. He passes them on to friends and families (as per the pdf voucher).

As has been stated already in this thread, they are only valid on the dates listed, there are certain products excluded from the 20% off and its not a promotion that is open to all members of the public (unlike the usual 10% off days Woodies normally have).

I plan on stocking up on paint, taps and some hallowe'en stuff this weekend.

    So cheers OP, much appreciated.

Have my eye on 2 particular items that would come down to sub 100 euro each this weekend comming,if these vocuhers do indeed work in Coolock.

If they don't work in Coolock go to Swords (Airside for Atlantic and Woodies isn't far away from the Pavilions). I've used them in Swords several times from these threads. These vouchers appear about 3 times a year so I store up what I want to buy for when I have the vouchers. Still price around though obviously.

For 20% if you're spending a few hundred quid it's worth the extra few mins to Swords. I can't see them not working in Coolock though. I'd imagine the manager wants to sell the stuff without the 20% discount so he's hardly going to be pre-announcing it now.

I've used these vouchers in Coolock during the summer to get some wood and other bits. No problems.

Whatever vouchers i had left i gave them to an old couple in the queue behind me. It's nice to be nice.

Depending what you are looking for, Woodies Airside has a better selection of things.

If it helps the discussion in any way, I got these vouchers LAST WEEK by email (pdf attachment) and used them last weekend in Woodies in Naas without the cashier even batting an eyelid...

The vouchers are good to use and they save money!!

    Gally74, thank you!

Was about to go to woodies this evening to get laminate flooring for the kids bedroom...

Will wait now and go Saturday.

Your post will save me a few quid.

Went back up to Woodies with the printed out voucher.

I showed it to the manager and he still said/claimed that there is no 20% off weekend, this weekend.
He then asked me where I got these vouchers from?

I said from a friend who works for Woodies.;)

He said hes still not aware of any 20% off promotion, but he would suppose he would have to give me the 20% off,if its legit.I think I actually stumped him for words or an explanation,as he didnt seem to very clued in or clued up.

So in fairness to the OP and what he posted,I will say this much.............

    Thankyou.:)

    Thank to the OP.

Used in Woodies, Cork today... and as I asked the lady if I could use my poorly printed voucher... and she asked the lady at the next checkout how to register it... I saw the people at that checkout were using it too, though they had a proper glossy version.

    Ix.

No probs in Woodies in Swords either. The guy examined them for the fine print as if he'd never seen them before but they saved me about €30.

I actually got my voucher in Woodies in Airside, if he'd gone to the front door and shouted I'm sure they would have told him. :)

Thanks again OP. Have used these every time they were available before... must have saved myself over 250 quid in total, I'd say. Only thing is sometimes you end up buying crap that you don't need!

How often do these come around? - handy to know for next time.

Used the one today, and saved €50... and gave my spare one to a couple with kids in the paint section as i was walking towards the till... their trolley was loaded with tins of paint and they looked like they could have done with a bit of cheering up! - i did get a hug from the woman as well as she was delighted!

I like passing on good karma!

    Thanks again op!

Not sure how they work it out, but if I recall correctly they always seem to happen around Bank Holiday weekend periods? Say once every 2-3 months or so, or at least they have done for the last year-and-a-half or so.
