Been streaming this one for a while on http://squarehead.bandcamp.com/ and decided to pick up the vinyl today. Really breezy, Beach Boys vibe to this; no reinventing of the wheel or anything, just solid, guitar-pop. Anyone else get a chance to pick this one up?

Picked it up but haven't actually listened to it yet! Seen them a few times and they're (mostly) always a lot of fun.

i love it. it is crammed with melodies. really good drumming and basslines too. it makes me feel like a teenager.

this is what i want to hear when i turn on phantom during the day. not some dross from blink 182 or the chilli peppers.

Dude, come post more often. This one and the wilco post are what are needed around these parts.

ha, thanks LG, if only i had enough interesting things to say. im trying to hold back on negative posts too so that restricts me a bit.

back to this album though, it is practically perfect garage pop. full of finely crafted guitar songs. Fake Blood is a stone cold classic, but i think my favorite tune is Axes of Love.

another great year for irish music. if you've a spare tenner you would do alot worse than picking this up. then go see them cause they'll probably be gigging in a town near you. support irish music, it's great.

[not sure about the blue jacket mind]

Spot on about Axes of Love there, chris_d. The only thing I find that detracts somewhat from the album is that it doesn't really break any new ground, it's quite a throwback. Still though, tough to argue with 12 finely-crafted, summer melodies.

I like the record. I dunno, it kind of goes down in quality as it progresses though. Definitely interesting but. I'm interested to see where they go next.
