Lighting Suggestions for Amateur

I had a quick look around and couldn't see a thread re: this but, apologies if there is one!

I co-author a beauty website called Viva Adonis and have to take a lot of product pictures. I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ45 bridge camera which excels in natural light but, in artificial light, everything looks slightly orange and hazy no matter what I do.

I've been looking at getting a tabletop studio (pop-up studio, lights etc) to take product pics but, am wondering is there a better option since I am only an amateur? Is there any particular lightbulbs I could look at?

    All help appreciated!

If your camera can take RAW images then you can adjust the White Balance using photo editing software afterwards to get rid of the orange cast. If it doesn't allow you to shoot RAW and only jpeg then you need to set your WB on the camera to tungsten and this should remove most of the orange cast but it won't be 100% perfect. I presume the haziness is because the camera is useless in low light and is missing docus a little.

The best advice I can give to you is to get a photographer who knows a bit about product photography/lighting in to give you a hand for a few hours and show you how to setup the lights and to edit the pics afterwards. You should be able to do it yourself after this and by doing this it will save you hours if not days messing around with stuff and getting nowehre. If you want you can PM me and I can give you some details etc.
