There's a great book out there called Vulcan 607, all about the longest bombing raid in history (Falklands '82), is an excellent read.

Had the pleasure of going into a Vulcan cockpit when i was in the Air Cadets and on camp at RAF Waddington, it's soooo small. My uncle was also a navigator on them for 10yrs so i got good reason to love the planes

that one bomb was the nail in the coffin for fast jets operating from the Falklands, it meant the C-130 couldn't take off with maximum weight, and it convinced the Argentines to move almost all of their Air Defence assets 1000 miles from the target area.

as single bomb results go, its not bad....

Beautiful aircraft, Always look forward to one at an airshow.
Also had the pleasure of flying with an ex-Vulcan pilot once,
    Very nice chap indeed.

I used to work on them. I love them, used to get the dirty cramped and awkward jobs as I was a kid at the time, but so many wonderful and fond memories. I read the book Vulcan 607 and thoroughly enjoyed it. It read like fiction but was all supposed to be fact.

Aeroplanes like the Vulcan are missed so having one in flying condition is wonderful.

It's great rival and companion the Victor was something special too.
