I have just moved house and got a sky dish installed. I use a sky box to get Freeview and this is very successful. I cannot get the RTE's or TV3 and I know there is no aerial for these stations but nobody seems to be able to tell me how to get them. I know I need a Saorview box but will this be sufficient to work with the Sky dish. Would appreciate help as I don't need any more expense at this stage.

You need an aerial installed for Saorview, it is not transmitted via satellite. Your Sky dish is no help to you for Saorview.

The Saorview decoder box needs a bog standard aerial. Or even a piece of chicken wire in the attic attached to a length of coax cable if you are in a good spot.

Your Sky box is picking up FTA not freeview (which is UK Digital Terrestrial Television not satellite)
