    Hi all,

My Dad has his own decorating business and is buying a new laptop in the next few days. Is it possible for him to claim back the VAT on this? A laptop is not necessarily a requirement for him to carry out his business but he will be using it for work purposes (generating quotations/invoices/receipts etc).

I can't find anything concrete on it.

    Hi

Yes. If the laptop is used for the business. Otherwise a proportion of the VAt relating to the business element can be claimed.

    Kind Regards

As long as he is VAT registered.
