Whats the best method of vertical jump testing other than the electronic methods?

Is there anywhere in Ireland that sells vertical jump testing equipment?

what iv done before is use the ink off a stamp and place it on the athletes finger (hand closest to the wall) gotten them to jump as high as they can to touch the wall with that hand. it marks the wall.

you can measure it 2 diff ways.
    1. distance from ground to mark on wall
    2. difference in height between standing with arms over head on ground and mark on the wall.

    hope this helps

You don't need electronic equipment unless you're trying to earn your crust from getting a guy to a mm higher.

As per the above or chalk the fingers if you have a bare concrete wall.

Chalk dust on the fingers could work as well, if you're jumping next to a dark painted wall.

Edit: I should have refreshed the page instead of replying 20 minutes after opening it! :p
