Walter is forced to leave the lab for the first time in years when he and Olivia go to Massive Dynamic to examine files that may connect one of Walter's Cortexiphan test subjects to a new series of crimes.

A frankly amazing episode this week. Walter's big day out! We see Nina for the first time this season, and it turns out her and Olivia are very close (perhaps a motherly figure); she was even around when Olivia went to prom. Also interesting that Walter and Nina hate each other - wondering kind of how Peter would have had a part in that?!
Great Walter freak-out scene in the hotel and a pretty strong story this week!

Storywise, this was a little on the weak side. Credit to the writers, Torv and Noble for a solid two-hander between Olivia and Walter, though.

Top episode, finally getting to the meat on the bones now, no sign of Kennedy(Lincoln) this week, wonder now that Peters back will we be seeing less of him on our side, Got to love Walter takn a piss at the power grid place :pac: and callin Astrid Claire I think, Astrid's reply was class "really Walter not even an A" :D, cant wait for the next episode. Is there two weeks to wait as Temptamperu posted earlier?

I know. I even said it to myself as the episode ended that the show wouldn't be on next week. Must say great way to keep interest high. The show seems to be going from strength to strength in my view. Scripts are top quality. ( Bar the episode with the cartoon Leonard Nimoy that was really bottom of the bar stuff.)

I thought that was strange because new universe walter has been calling her astrid with no problems the whole time.
Maybe this is a sign of things going back to normal

When he called Astrid, Claire, I thought it was because St. Claire's was on his mind. Is that it?

Nice little Matrix reference earlier in the ep. :pac:

He seemed to perk up in the car when Olivia mentioned the lake though.

September is gonna be in an awful pickle now i think.

Have to say "fringetastic" episode and long may it continue!

Only into the 4th as well.
Love the way the series keeps adding elements where you don't expect :)

Superb acting from John Noble....how this man has not won awards is a tragedy!
Immense character development for Walter, deep, rich and heartbreaking.
    Peter is back!!...yay!

    Fringe is amazing tv, Fringetastic!

    now it getting interesting,

still trying to wrap my head around how the new time line is set out, so this was the first cortexifan patient olivia has run into, and she hasnt had any affects from it since the trials, so how did she travel to the other side:confused:,

nina sharp seems to be close to oliva, and her and walter hate each other, so does walter still own MD:confused:,

im really liking all the new storys there trowning at us but i would like to know exactly WTF is going on also :)

bar the madness of not knowing everything thats happening another excellent episode, noble and torv are simply outstanding actors,

She didn't. They travel to the other side through use of the bridge, she's never done it herself as she's never had to. Tbh, I'd have been ok with a lot more episodes explaining this universe and the other one as they exist without Peter surviving, before getting him back. Though I guess with Peter back he will act as an audience avatar, allowing direct explanations as to what's happened.

Ok I have not seen Subject 9 yet so am trying to avoid the major spoilers but was reading a quick synopsis of it and just have a qucik question

Is Lincoln in this episode or is he still recovering from Gus ? It be strange to cut him from a case or is it because it has to do with Walter's old experiments Olivis think he might " freak out" too much?

but didnt they say altivia still took over olivias identity, and how did the bridge come to be in the current timeline in the first place,

Walternate had been able to create bridges to "our" side for years.

Anyone else think Walter calling astrid Claire strange? And his reponse to Olivia coming to the lab? from her reaction seemed like it wasnt a regular occurrence.

Astrid in her twitter the next day said Claire was her partner IRL and it was just a shout out to her.

I'm surprised by people's reactions to the new season tbh, I've been left bitterly disappointed.

There are only 8 episodes in the whole season and so far 50% of it has been filler working up to Peter coming back. Other than that where is the story going?

Now that Peter's back though I hope to see a vast improvement.

Oh, I thought it had been renewed for a standard season - ballpark 20-24 episodes.

It was picked up for 22 episodes this season. Not sure where the 8 episode season is coming from, but if it were correct everyone would know by now.

Everywhere I look only has 8 episodes listed.

??? That would be the eight that they have announced with titles, not a total list for the season. You'll see similar for every show during a season.

I'd say that's standard enough, they release a certain amount of info for/up to the winter period. We can expect it to be off the air for a little while before it resumes in January.
