Call bird feed

    Hi folks. Just wondering from your experiences how much food should a magpie need to keep it in decent shape as a call bird and how often do you feed and water your call birds.. Ive just caught my first after a long wait and dont want to loose him.. Thanks..

    Water and dog food is probably the best. I do mean canned dog food not dry they wont last long on that stuff. Alternatively the odd rabbit entrails for a bit of variety.

    +1 feed him whenever the tray is empty and make sure there's always water available. With this wet weather shelter and a perch is essential as well.
