Bord Bia is organising a number of these events around the country for the bank holiday weekend.

The details for Limerick are as follows:

Local Farmhouse Cheese and Local Handmade Beer - a Marriage Made in Limerick.

Event Organiser: Peter Ward, Country Choice at the Milk Market Limerick and Smyths Bar, The Market Quarter, Limerick

When: Friday 28th in Smyths at 5.30pm

Saturday 29th at Country Choice in the Limerick Milk Market, 11am - 2pm

Looking forward to this :D Just back from Oktoberfest in Munich and it was all cheese and beer over there. Works quite well together.

That sounds like a great idea! Is it free? I know a good few people who'd be interested!

It won't. I can't. It never will and if they try it will be a failure. It's a pre club bar so cheap commercial beers is all they can sell.

It is organised by An Bord Bia. I wouldn't look into it too much as far as Smyths are concerned.

Saying that, the more pubs in Limerick that stock craft beer the better. The variety as it stands is dire compared to the rest of the country. Thankfully the Locke Bar have decided to stock a nice little selection these days. Now if only more places would follow suit.

    Ron,

Try Foleys on Sarsfield Street. He is the first to have Fishcers Helles Beer on Draught in Limerick since Luigi Malones pulled the plug.

Have a pint of it. Really nice stuff.

    Excellent - will do! :D

Maybe we should start a Limerick Craft Beer Thread of its own with all the places that stock them?

Where's doing the Saturday morning beer tasting? Smyths? would have thought Nancys or even inside the Market as Smyths do a fair amount of breakfasts/lunches about that time.

Anyway, free beer .:) oh yeah and.....cheese, not to forget the cheese.
