Perhaps start the day with good coffee and brunch at Avoca on Suffolk St, if you must be in the city. Though if it's nice weather, I'd recommend strolling along Killiney beach followed by a brisk walk to the top of Killiney Hill to take in the beautiful scenery. Then in the evening, conclude with dinner and a glass of Chianti at Benito's Italian in Dalkey

collins barracks (easily kill 2 morning hours), coffee in the museums cafe, luas to o'connell street, wander in and out of bookshops and record shops on quays and easons, lunch in the oval bar on abbey street, then over the river and a wander around trinity/stephens green/national gallery topped off with a few in that great bar on fleet street, name escapes me now!!

Dublin Contemporary is worth a look over in Earlsfort Terrace
