    Hey Guys,

I couldn't find any other place for this, So I thought here'd be the best place to post it - Amongst my own.. Crazy nutwhacks! :D

So anyway... I'm looking for a good cloth to burn.. I mean one that gives off a nice large flame, (Doesn't melt!!!) and doesn't burn too fast, and wont burn out too fast!

Has anyone had any experience with this? Looking for it for a photo of mine, so I'll need it accessible in rolls, (As I'll be using it to replicate a flag)

I'm not sure but could you use a slightly flame resistant cloth doused in methylated spirits? The meths would burn in a (bright ?) flame and then hopefully the cloth would then burn.

aaach, a few months ago i found a site about cheap special effects for dslr film makers. loads of things like fireballs, fake blood, etc. but damned if i can find it.

100% cotton anyway, that should burn rather than melt - anything with any kind of polyester in it will most likely just scorch at the edges and melt. then spritz it with lighter fuel [spritz - not douse!] to get a higher flame. orrrr spray it with spirit alcohol, that gives a nice flame too. thicker cottons will burn slower, so maybe something like a curtain material but these usually have man made fibres in them for durability.

get thee to guineys or hickeys and ask them for some small 100% cotton samples first - they both sell by the roll but guineys'll be cheaper.

Thanks for the tips guys! I'll run in and give em a try! I've gotta use it to replicate a flag, so it'll need to be light too! Oh this is gonna be so fun! :D:D:D
