    Hi All,

Just recently my screengrab facility has disappeared. When I want to save something from the page I rightclick as normal and a dialog box appears as usual with various options but the screengrab option is not there anymore.

Hoping there is a two click solution to fix this problem for this 'non tech head'

    Thanks for reading.

Was it an extension? I don't remember that option when I right clicked.

Alt + PrtScn does the same thing. It takes a snapshot of the active window.

Thanks for replying chin_grin. Yes I think it was an extention of some sort. It was fantastically usefull. far superior to the 'print screen way that you mention.

In the orange firefox menu at the top left, there should be an option for Add ons. Click on that and then click on Extensions.

Ah, see it's not compatible with the latest Firefox (now version 7.0.1). It's greyed out so I can't install it.

You could try these alternatives, or wait until that extension is updated.

Did you update FF recently? sometimes it takes a while for some extensions to be supported in the newer version.

EDIT: chin grin beat me too it :)

    Ok here is the latest.
I have Firefox 7.0.1. I think it was updated to this version fairly recently which is probably when screengrab disappeared.

So I went to 'tools' > add ons. and then searched for 'screengrab.
No more screengrab it seems. The nearest I could find was pixlrgrabber2.1.1.

I have now used it a few times and am not impressed. With the old screengrabber you could select an area on the screen and paste it into a word document almost in one swift action. With this pixlgrabber you can select an area and have to save it on to desktop first and then open word and paste it in. ...Not impressed. One step backwards for Firefox unfortunately.

Thanks to every one who replied.

Did you try the one I linked to above? Its very similar to screengrab the one I used to use...
