UPC Mast in garden

Hi all, I have a UPC mast in my garden. I live in a duplex top floor which was built recently. The mast was already there and they built around it. I'm just wondering is this safe? Are my family at risk?

Depends on whether it's receiving or transmitting. If you live in a cable area then all it's doing is receiving so it's not transmitting anything.

What part of the country are we talking about?

Hi coylemj and thanks for the response.
Its in Balbriggan in Fingal Co Dublin. It is the mast for the estate of about 700 houses. It looks like a big mesh on a very tall pole. I know It can recieve TV and Broadband if that means anything.

Do the houses in the area receive TV via cable or do they have MMDS dish aerials on the roof? If they are receiving via cable then the mast is receiving the TV signal so is not transmitting anything.

There's probably no issue with the "mast", I imagine it's not much taller than the nearby houses. I think it picks up some TV channels from a hill near The Naul and broadband is also picked up on a microwave link to the UPC network, possibly also from the Naul.
