Bit of a weird question, but I was wondering if anyone here has ever had experience with producing vinyl? More specifically where in Ireland (if anywhere) still produces vinyl pressings? It's only a bit of a novelty idea for the moment, but it would be cool if it became reality! :)

it hugely depends on the style of music that you're getting pressed. a guy thats good at pressing electronic styles mightn't be the best at indie/rock etc.

Aidan Foley is an excellent mastering engineer, conversant with all styles, and one of the few people in Europe who knows how to cut a record:

while i agree aidan can cut a rock record very well, i honestly wouldnt go near him for electronic stuff. simon @ the exchange, laurie @ curvepusher or chris @ blacklisted are the guys for the bang bang stuff..

OP asked for someone in Ireland though.

yeah but besides aidan there's nobody that can do it so if you want some d'n'b, techno or dub step (etc) you have to go to UK really.

we still dont know what style OP is talking about though so aidan might be the man for them.

Cheers lads for all of the replies! The music itself is kinda electro-rock (is that even a genre? :) ). Chances are that even if it was someone in the UK/Ireland (preferably Ireland, but UK would be fine too) it'll probably still work out too expensive, but I thought I'd look into it anyway. :)
