Monitor Audio Sub Query

    Hey John/Dave,

Bit of a shot in the dark this one but here's goes.

I currently have a Monitor Audio BRW10 subwoofer paired with the BR6 speakers and Onkyo 707.

My room is large and wide so I also have a second sub connected to the Onkyo - the Radius 360HD in order to fill the bass out a bit more. Because of the room layout my subs have to be placed to the sides, hence my desire for two subs.

Long story as to how I ended up with two unmatched subs but anyway I digress!

When seriously cranking up the volume, unsurprisingly the Radius 360HD doesn't cut the mustard. The BRW10 overpowers it and if I try ratchet up the Radius its starts to grunt a bit and I get air type vibrations from the Radius hammering down on on the floor!

So if I wanted to take the Radius 360HD out of the loop and match the BRW10 what are my options?

I know that the BRW10 is a finished line but it would be the perfect match.

The newer model BXW10 is rated at 200W so I guess it isn't a perfect match for the BRW10 at 150W

Is there any possibility that an old BRW10 might be lying around in the storerooms, unboxed, demo etc

I'm open to suggestions here but I really don't want to spend a fortune as I already have a sub, I just want to fill the whole room with a more evenly dispersed bass!
    The price of perfection!

    Thanks in advance

    Damien

    Hi Techno.

Unfortunately we don't have any of the older BRW10's floating around.

The BX would be the closest match although you will need to keep the volume a touch lower on the BX compared to the BR.

They use the same size of driver and the cabinet size is similar so in terms of matching, this is the most logical move.

Let me know what you think and I'll see if I can work you out a price on the BXW10.

    Thanks Dave,

I had thought myself it would be a bit of a long shot alright.

Sure send me on a quote for the BX. Christmas is coming, maybe Santa will treat me!
Out of curiosity, would you consider a trade in on the Radius 360HD?
