I note from media reports that the English FA intend to appeal Rooneys match ban should it be for 3 games. I have yet to see an appeal from a club to the FA for "voilent conduct " being overturned or a reduced ban.

Indeed, very quick to appeal and look for sympathy when it is for an international match, but say fúck to a camera and they will quickly ban you for as long as they see fit.

That's because the bleeding heart omg someone think of the children were out in force, not least all over this forum, at the time.

Why wouldn't they. Their best striker, most national teams would appeal, you are obviously going to do anything in your power to give your team the best chance. It's less cringey than asking to be the 33rd team. He shouldn't get more than a 2 match ban really, which is the norm anyway for International matches.

Of course they will appeal. I will suspect the FAI will also appeal the Doyle red from the other night as well.

You can't appeal a yellow card. Blessing in disguise anyway, I'd much rather see Walters play.

Got the 3 match ban, interesting to see if they include him in the squad.

He'll be included in the squad, no doubts about it imo.

Rooney is an idiot, deserves to be banned.

I think the 3 match ban is pretty harsh, he was stupid to do it though obviously

What were they expecting tbh? A straight red card for violent content equals 3 match ban same for any other player why would he be any different.

If it cant be increased above 3 games if the appeal is rejected then they would be stupid not to appeal.

Rooney looks like a man who regrets not declaring for the Republic of Ireland.
