So what size for a plant room in a 250m2 house with HRV system with large tank heated from solar panels? Is there anything to stop this room from also being used as a laundry room?

Big enough to work comfortably in, but not waste space is the simple answer. I think specifing a size would be incorrect, especially where the plan area is not rectangular etc..

    I don't see why not.

We have our boilers, tank, pump etc. in the same room as the washing machine - we bought a few cheapo. kitchen units and a sink. Useful for washing paintbrushes, muddy clothes without worrying about dirtying the main kitchen.

Just make sure it has enough space for your drying - we put hooks on the wall. Make sure there's a HRV extract in there and your clothes will dry nicely overnight.

    SSE

PS ours is often full of young plants too!

Came up with an alternate solution since I asked this question. Architect is going to send through drawings during the week. I may post them on here for comment!
