If a farm animal is hit on a public road who is responsible the owner of the animal or the driver of the vehicle.

If two people are with cattle on bar public road and a car came and went through the cattle at high speed and hit one of cattle in drain to give it a broken leg. Who is responsible to pay damage and so on.....

Animals Act says it depends on fencing...

    (2) (a) Where damage is caused by an animal straying from unfenced land on to a public road, a person who placed the animal on the land shall not be regarded as having committed a breach of the duty to take care by reason only of placing it there if—

    (i) the land is situated in an area where fencing is not customary, and

(ii) he had a right to place the animal on that land.

A driver is required to be able to stop in the distance he can see to be clear.

The cattle are unlikely to be travelling very fast.
