As title suggests i`m wondering has anybody here or do they know anybody who`s done Haute Route Alpine Cyclosportive.

After the Raid this year we`re strongly considering this one for 2012 and would like to hear others experience before we book anything.

The home site; hauteroute.org has plenty of good info but actual riders tips etc could be invaluable. Thanks.

Yeah i did think about doing this last year. Logistically it was a nightmare if doing it solo which i would have been so i gave it a miss. Sourcing accommdation in those places would have been very hard and lugging around gear would have been too much on top of the daily cycling. I know they do have a certain amount of accommodation but i much rather treating these events like a holiday rather than being stuck talking about gearing and who is going to win the tour de france with other cyclists. Meeting the locals and seeing different ways of life is what i would rather.

Did the Alpen Brevet platinium course instead.

Couldnt recommend it more if you are looking for a serious challenge. It has it all 5 massive mountains, over 270k of distance, crazy decents, a very tricky cut off time, great scenary (if you can look beyond your front wheel), & great organisation. Makes the Marmotte seem very easy.
