Ireland Tickets and Question About Sections Of The Aviva Stadium

Just wondering if you can help me with a few questions regarding the upcoming play-off game and ticketing please.

I'm going to go to the home leg of the play-off game (if possible) so I'm enquiring about how best to go about getting tickets? Ticketmaster I presume, would that be correct? Will I definitely be able to pick up a couple of tickets for this game?

Also, if it's the weekend game at home then I'll more than likely have a few drinks and be up for a sing-song so I'm wondering section of the ground the singing section is in? If it's the weekday game at home then I more than likely won't be having too many drinks, so what section is the best in terms of a good view.

Lastly, what sort of price would I be looking at for each of the sections mentioned above?

    Thanks very much :)

Anyone who was at the Armenia game will get a ticket and then the rest will go on sale I reckon there shouldn't be much problem getting a ticket.
The singing section is in block 114 of south stand lower, imo it is the best place to watch the game, not the best view but you can stand and sing /chant without some fooker mouthing off.€45 for tickets there.
lower west or east have better views but imo your match day experience will be much better in the singing section.
PM if you need any more details regarding tickets.

Wouldn't be so sure about tickets being that easy to get. The Aviva was near enough to full last night (I think?) and these people are almost all going to want tickets to that game. This is a playoff which is going to attract the interest of alot more people. That is a large number of people going for a small number of tickets I think.

I'm sure tickets will more than likely go on sale just after the draw is made.

Singing section is behind the goal in the South Stand AFAIK. It's where the supporters club sit. Sat there once and it was a great atmosphere.

    I've seen ticket prices range from €45 - €60.

The higher you pay, the better the view I'd imagine.

I was told there was 45,000 at it last night,so your looking at another 6000 seats available.
I go to the SS and I wont go back to the other stands again, the view aint as good but it is a great atmosphere, the lads on the supporters club do a great job with the songs/chants,flags and drums.it makes it a much better match experience.
Probably will be a sell out but I think you should be ok if you buy the tickets once the go on sale, lots of tickets are only bought on the day of the game.

You're looking at a bit of that excess being Armenia not filling their away allocation, coupled with those who were eligible for tickets last night but did not attend for whatever reason (through blockbooking schemes, the season ticket etc) I'd say you're looking at closer to 4000-4500 seats available. If you're there on the button once they go on sale you should be fine, but I certainly wouldn't say the tickets will be EASY to come by given the demand that there should be for a game of this size.

As for the Irish international fans, they really do pale in comparison to the atmosphere created by fans elsewhere at club and international level.

That could just as easy happen for the play off game.

I never said it would be EASY to get a ticket but it aint gonna sell out within 5 minutes of going on sale and if you wanted a ticket you should get sorted.

Also of the countries that we can meet, will any of them bring large support?

If we drue Montenegro, I'd say they'd sell their full allocation.

In regards to your first sentence and last, the size of the game in question should mean that the max of both sets of support should be there. Particularly if its Turkey.

Not when there was a massive brawl there during the 2nd half.
Something to do with "you're sitting in my seat..."
Took nearly 20 stewards to break up the fight.

    ^^^

Was wondering what that was about; around the 50th minute or so I think everyone beside me in the South Stand [Block 117] turned to their right and completely ignored the game for 5 or so minutes. A fight would explain that!

Dont agree with the Ireland fans paling in comparison. Far better atmosphere on Tuesday than most premier league games ive been at. To put it in context the crowd were far better on tuesday than at the sund newcastle game recently. Premiership games have a very poor atmosphere to be honest. Too many tourists at the big clubs.

We dont quite have the fanatical atmosphere of other european international teams but with the singing section working well now lansdowne is starting the get its atmosphere back and looks really well with the flags on tv. Have to say the Richie Dunne Russia flag was class the other night.

No matter which team we are drawn against, they will use up their full allocation of about 3500.

Always better when there is a decent away crowd improves the atmosphere.

OP ...I'm guessing you will probably not be the only person who was not at the Armenia Game who will want a ticket for the "vital" play-off game.

Have you been to any other games ? or just jumping on the bandwagon.

I have not been to any of the other games - have not been to an Ireland International Soccer game since the France game - I will more than likely try to get to the play-off game, but my reasons will be for work - I work as a photographer for an Agency so should be able to get access through the agency.

Everyone who went on Tuesday is guaranteed ticket for play off so we can accommodate a few bandwagoners for the play off !

the best thing for the team is a full house and good atmosphere. the more the merrier!

I was at the match the other night. Will get a ticket for the next game. I'd a fine view of the pitch but despite what my optician told me, my eyesight isn't that great.

Does anyone know if I have to sit in the same seats as the Armenia game?

A lot of freebies floated around for the Armenia home game and the FAI still failed to fill the stadium for what was a critical game. I would guess that a lot of tickets will go on general sale - unfortunately as with all these "in demand" ticket sales it will turn into a ticketmaster.ie F5 session (unless you know someone who bought a ticket for Armenia and they don't want to go to the playoff  )

I'd be surprised if the tickets were not similar to what you already have? What makes you think you would get better seats?

Easier for the fai if they allocate you same seat. Not a bad seat in the ground to be honest. Even in singing section where I am the net can obscure view but you get the close up of everything at our end so outweighs that.

what happens with those who dont renew? someone then who buys on general sale could have better seats than someone who went to both but is lumped with a restricted view ticket that they may have had before.

if priority is given then you should be able to change where you sit imo

Can you renew ticket if you bought the previous one in ticketmaster?

I guess just wait and see what appears on the FAI website. I'll be at this match, one way or another.

Can't imagine too many people who went to Armenia game won't go to play off. Plus those that were in the away section with returned tickets from Armenia have to be accommodated also.

aye maybe im really only thinking of my own situation and not being too practical. would just be a bit annoying if someone who didnt go to previous game comes along and gets better + cheaper tickets

I missed the Armenia game because it was on early and I had a double Stats class to attend, been to the majority of Ireland games for I would guess the last 10 years, will do everything in my power to get tickets for this.

And it'd be an absolute travesty if you didn't at the expense of someone who is just going because of the occasion.

Got this mail from the FAI:

As you purchased your tickets through ticketmaster.ie you will need to contact them directly to avail of your "right to buy offer"

I got my Armenia tickets through FAI.ie
Never got an email confirmation or anything, however I do have a authorisation code..

Surely I get first preference again?

Balls, bought my Aremnia ticket private, price on ticket was zero so Im guessing it was a comp (or season ticket?). Is the paper ticket I have in my posession any use to me?

You'll have to ask Ticketmaster about that. I'm in the same boat. Going to ring them later and will post here how I get on.

I doubt many will go on general sale, most of the empty seats were on premium level and I'm sure they'll be gone now there's a bandwagon to hop aboard, plus it'll be Estonia's biggest ever game so I'm sure they'll take up far more of their allocation than Armenia (there are more Estonians than Armenians in Ireland too).

yeah but loads of the tickets will have been sold through ticketmaster. Not sure what happens with all of those.

The people that bought them will have first option? They might have to send their stubs on or something.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,899 ✭✭✭budgemook

Just off the phone with Ticketmaster.

First thing the guy said was that they haven't heard anything from the FAI as of yet.

He then went on to say that he heard about the right to buy option but that he was unsure how it would be worked. People who bought the tickets online might have no problem with this but people who bought the tickets in the shops might have problems as the shops are franchises.

I bought mine in the shop :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,656 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Better be able get early tickets now. Bought in a shop too.

wondering how this works also, have been to most qualifiers for about the last 12 or 13 years, usually get tickets through a club from a lad i know, bought my tickets the other night through ticketmaster outside the ground. was given assurances that i would be guarnteed a ticket for the play off game! i hope its just something simple like they put the tickets on sale a day earlier for people with ticket stubs, just the amount that was at the game the other night, you bring your stub with you buying your ticket, then general sale on the following day, that would make sense. but its the fai, wonder how they are gona fcuk this up!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,273 ✭✭✭flas

was just on fai offical facebook page, they are saying on there that the full details for everyone who bought tickets either through the fai shops or ticketmaster booths will be released within the next 24 hours, so id say they are actually going to get it sorted this time!

No mention of people who had tickets for the Armenia game, hope this doesn't end up on Joe Duffy !

I had a ticket for a corporate box for the Armenia game, anyone know what the story is with them? I've been to all the other home games!

For the last playoff against France we just had to post the ticket for the last home qualifier to the FAI and they sorted me out.
