uneven car acceleration

This time last year I had a cylinder misfiring caused by the gap being too big on the spark plugs.... easy fix.
But the symptom were; car revs not going up even when the pedal was depressed and then shooting up after a few seconds, car vibrating quite badly when idling, car acceleration was 'jumpy', engine light on.

Anyway, I noticed it a couple of times since then, and it's more noticeable when the car is parked on an incline facing upwards (driveway). But the car always sorted itself out after 100 metres or so. (This really was quite a rare occurrence)

This morning however was really bad. Car parked forwards up the driveway. Cut out several times but always starts first time. Vibration quite bad. Have to keep the revs up or it sounds like it's struggling and about to cut out (but doesn't).

It was serviced 10k miles ago (new sparks) and due another service. Just curious to know whether you guys might think it's the same problem again?

    Quite true TestTransmission!
