The concept of "Honesty"

I think absolute honesty is an insanely childish concept. Would you agree? Honesty is only relative to your circumstances. What do you think? Are you liberal when it comes to ethical concerns? Seems like 100% honesty won't get you far in this life. Any takers?

If you both know she is a 'hoor', what's the problem?

I prefer the lie by omission myself!!!

I can lie but it doesn't come naturally to me. I generally find it hard to think of lies, but then I also have a **** imagination.
I can't see how 100% honesty is childish at all

Nah, exploiting holes in the system is much better. If they haven't anticipated it, I've worked around it:) Just as well the serious stuff is covered well. As should be the case. If you can't design something properly, you deserve the exploitation imo.

You can't be 100% honest all of the time. I was dating a girl once and she was complaining that she was suffering from water retention in her legs...now I had previously seen a photo of her mam and she was slowly but surely turning into her. Honest answer would have been "ah sure your mam has fat legs and you'll eventually end up the same as her, it's genetics and there's nothing you can do". Instead I replied "oh that shocking, I think I read something about fluid retention in legs before, it's a medical condition".

White lies are OK every now and then.

Unless she was saying it for reassurance there was no need to lie about it at all.

Honesty is better in some circumstances but if we were 100% honest all the time we would have no friends.
A little white lie to spare someone's feelings is ok and kinder.

No it wasn't.did you have to give your opinion on whether or not it was a real thing? If not then you could've said "i dont know much about water retention,is there anything you can do for it?" that way you're not lying and you're not being nasty.

If you look nervous while lying, you're doing it wrong! There are times I come to believe my own bull****. You have to frame your codswallop into an alternative, parallel universe and evaluate all the possible situational outcomes beforehand. If you can't believe it yourself, how to you expect others to?

Yes, I did. I wasn't nasty, I went with a white lie rather than tell her she'd eventually end up like her mam.

Guys if you want to know what the girl you're dating will look like in a few years just look at their mother. Genetics is a bitch.

I think the wife thing is almost an unwritten exception though. If you are honest in that situation, you deserve everything coming imo. Women generally don't tend to take complete honesty too well imo.

Tact & diplomacy is the best option in some circumstances. There is no need to be 100% honest all the time.

    Ah fair enough so.

I've no idea if my mam was considered good looking, though she did attract them right into her 40's so I suppose not too bad.

I think youre wrong. The wife is the person you need to be most honest with. If you cant be something serious is wrong

I love honesty. I hate you all

What if she takes after her father's side of the family? I think turning into a maiden aunt would be much, much worse than turning into my mother....

There are always exceptions and my hypothesis was quite general but usually you find girl taking after their mams.
