I've never sang to ANYONE before so this is my first time.

I'm not sure whether I can actually sing, but if you wouldn't mind listening to a short clip then that would be appreciated:

Scan the file before you run it and you should be fine.

I'm going to be totally honest, and i don't mean to sound harsh, but i'm afraid you genuinely don't have a note in your head, and singing definitely isn't your thing. In other words, GIVE UP THE SINGING.

    A little harsh.

There's a voice there. Not much range yet but nothing a few lessons couldn't bring out.

Agreed. I think the main problem is you're taking a song almost everyone knows and trying to do it completely differently. It's like you're not sure yourself exactly what you want to do and you're making it up as you go along. I think if you sang the song the way it's supposed to be sang it might give a better indication as to weather you can sing well or not.

OK heres the good news- yes you can sing!

Not sure whether you were singing truly unaccompanied, ie without any backing track through earphones etc.

If it was a "true" unaccompanied solo singing experiment, well yes you can sing and it would not take much to imagine a vast improvement when mixed with a backing track.

If you had a musical backing track in an earphone, I would be a little more critical though.

Most accomplished singers wont sound spectacular solo on that type of song.

OK the song that was sung mightnt be to everybodys taste, but horses for courses, and the range you displayed wasnt going to crack glass, but so what? Neither do most male singers!

If you enjoy singing why not practise and sing a better song next time!

PS I have high musical standards and am usually quick to criticise.:)

Yep - you have a voice alright.

You need assistance with your tonality and phrasings... Also, your voice is slightly nasally.

Get some voice coaching. If this is your passion, then go for it. You voice is in tune and you have a nice sound to it.

    Best of luck.
