    Hi
Im in Malahide and have line of sight for Saorview according to the website.
I also have a tv that is (according to powercity) capable of receiving saorview.

What exactly do I need to buy?

    An aerial?
    A receiver box?

    Any links to good ones?

Thanks and sorry for the simple questions

If you have a TV capable of receiving Saorview then you will require an aerial.

Kippure or Three Rock requires a Group CD aerial.

What make/model TV do you have?

You don't neccesarilly need an outdoor aerial for saorview. If your tv is saorview compatible you might just need an indoor one. My son has an indoor aerial(15 euro from argos) and the picture is crystal clear, better that the upc reception actually.

one of these will work a treat for you but u will need a aerial also. this will combine both soarview and satellite signals together.

That's on the Saorview approved product list.

There's no such thing as a HD (or digital) aerial BTW......

You need an aerial. Your TV is approved, so it will work if you give it an aerial. A cheap aerial pointing at 3Rock or Kippure will give you a perfect picture. Once you have the aerial installed, do a digital tune and you will have Saorview. An external group CD aerial would be the best solution, but you could try an internal one, but that depends on a number of issues.

    Thanks guys.

Do you know does that one on tvtrade come with a long lead?
I've a fair distance from the back outer wall of my house to the front inside of my sitting room.

    Thanks

The contract aerial does not come with a lead. You buy it seperately. You need to mount it securely on a wall or soffit board, the higher the better. Depending on you circumstances, a chimmney mount might be easier (use a lashing kit as drilling into chimneys is not a good idea).

.....or get an installer to do it.

Do you know what type of cable I need?

    Is it CT100?

    That will do.

You could just buy a kit.

.... but any satellite cable will do.

You don't need CT165 (it's actually Triax TX165), TX100 will be more than good enough or even this stuff .

Any idea how I connect the cable to my tv?
Do I need to buy an adapter or something?

    thanks
