    I am planning to do perry after last sunday's River Cottage episode. Can anyone help me with the info on where to buy Pears in bulk? Thank you

    I would ask a local grocer or the likes of those traders who sell on moore street, I think they go to some market in smithfield somewhere (if you were in dublin). They can be selling stuff off which is overripe which is probably exactly what you want.

    A guy I know bought a massive amount of pears for a pear cider recently, I think tesco, i'll contact him and find out for you

    He said he got 300 pears for about €8 from a reduced section, I have a feeling they may have been more expensive though

    He did say he was going to go to smithfield fruit market and try buy in bulk there, they might make you a deal?
