Im in digs for college this year, and Im finding it really hard to eat right. ~All the food provided for us would be processed in some way, shes not great for fresh, healthy food. The only breakfast available to us is cereals, the only milk is whole fat, the only bread is white. Dinner usually consists of pasta, riceI(both white) or potatos with some sort of meat and sauce(jar)

Were not allowed to keep food in the house ourselves as she doesnt like us keeping food in the room as it may encourage rats. My question is how to eat well under the circumstances? As in for breakfast, would I be right in thinking that weetabix would be the healthiest option(this in comparison to rice crispies, cruchy nut etc)?

Also, for dinner, would it be wise to focus on eating all the meat and minimal potato? Im normally good at lunch, would just eat fruit or a good sandwich, and I walk for half an hour each day at least, but its so annoying that I have no control over the majority of my diet!any advice would be appreciated!

make lunch as healthy as you can, salad, fruit and lean meat etc. Potatoes / Pasta arent all bad, make sure you fill on up vegetables if you can. Surely the woman of the house wouldnt have an issue with you storing a bad of porridge in her kitchen? about €2 would have you a healthy breakfast for two weeks:D

Have you considered talking to the lady of the house about the choice of food on offer? If she's tough work then maybe one of your parents could do it for you. You are a PAYING customer and have a reasonable expectation for value for money!

    As Mack said OP.

Or at least ask her can you cook some of your own things. Maybe even just breakfast - she can then stay in bed in the morning - win/win for both of ye! :p
