Hi if its the BT Graduate programme you are on about you need to have achieved at least between 350+ points (business side I think) to 400 points (IT side I think) the points minimum isn't clear regarding what Leaving cert points needed to achieve to match the UCA's points.

Its here on the UCC careers website. Hope you might make it clearer, best to talk to someone who would be dealing with recruitment for the job application you are going for.

    http://www.ucc.ie/careers/job_details.php?vacancyID=8312&vacancySubTypeID=0&vacancyCategoryID=1&disciplineID=0&location=&keyword=&days=0&search=Search&pcs=40

    http://www.ucc.ie/careers/job_details.php?vacancyID=8314&vacancySubTypeID=0&vacancyCategoryID=2&disciplineID=0&location=&keyword=&days=0&search=Search&pcs=20

If you meet the minimum ucas points you should be fine.

From this page you can view the leaving cert grades that be equal to the ucas grades. You be able to make out your top six subjects to make up the UCAS points but generally I thought the top three is ok regarding the UCAS in the UK not sure if it applies to Irish applicants. Probably the top six subjects? Depending whether you are applying for a job or a course in the UK. Good luck.

    thanks all,

its a sainsburys graduate programme that im applying for.

i worked out that i have 420 ucas points on a cao to ucas calculator here - http://www.qualifax.ie/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=24

But i was mainly asking how to fill out this bit of the application form

    uFfBB.jpg

    - I was thinking that irish leaving cert goes in the first box

    - im unsure about the second box - maybe the subjects that i did

    - my results ie. 420 points in the third box ???

sorry if this seems like a stupid question, ive never had to fill out a uk application before, so its all new to me.

as always all help is very much appreciated

For A-Levels it would go like:
      Type - A2 Subject - Psychology Grade - A

There's usually 3-4 ALevels so if it will let you add more than that then you can list all your subjects (Leaving Cert then English then A etc.). If you only have a box or two you could (character permitting) type them in sequence like Maths/German/History with the corresponding grades in the next box B/B/B etc. so that whoever is reading the form has a fair chance of figuring out which grade corresponds to which subject. Also if there's no separate box for the UCAS points you should pop them in the 3rd box with your grades if you can fit them all.
