Jaysus that would give you some headache.

I wonder at what point though between "Hey look, a deer" and realising that it was coming for him did he decide that it might be time to stop?

Bastards can move quickly. I remember driving down a country road at about 50km/h, deer bouncing along the field beside me. Left-hand turn coming up, but the deer kept going straight, jumped about ten feet over ditch & barbed wire fence and bounded across the road in front of the car. Incredible agility.

This guy probably only realised what was about to happen when the deer was five feet from him.

    Pedant warning :D

That is actually an antelope species called a Hartebeest. They are much heavier and less nimble than deer or their smaller antelope cousins. That must have hurt!

Last week I'd have claimed it was Sean O'Brien.

This week, I'm not so sure.

Whoa that looked sore. I thought this was going to be about a new breed of commuting cyclists that cycled straight at you or something.

Yes, I must start wearing a helmet in case the tame deer in the Phoenix Park attack me... and a hard hat too given there's now a construction site beside the cycle track on the main avenue. :pac:

    That's him. :(
The Hartebeest was last seen heading for the horizon at about the 10 second mark.

he's lucky it didn't land on him also, I would say he thought it was going to go to his rear or change direction

Can't work out if the creature was aiming for him or just saw him at the last minute and made an arse of jumping out of the way.

Cycling hat aside, what is it about this particular video that's made it so popular that it's garnered so many views and hit so many mainstream tv news programmes? It's quite interesting.

I think it's the "You've Been Attacked by a Wild African Animal Framed" aspect of the clip that make it so appealing.
