    Hi,

I'm looking into throwing out an old Amstrad 3286 but before I do I'll need to find a keyboard in order to boot it up and take files off it. The files are old but I'd like to hold on to them.

Is there any chance someone may be able to loan me a keyboard for an Amstrad 3286?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you

does it use a 5 or 6 pin DIN.
Might be able to help if 5 pin. Kudos on it still working.
Otherwise perhaps remove the HD and put in to something else. Is it even DOS 5?

I believe it's a standard AT DIN connector. I had one about 13 years ago. MS-DOS 5.00 alright.

Well if you are around the D2/D6 area you can borrow a 5 pin din to PS2 adapter, might even have a spare one, if so, keep. Amazingly I had to use it recently on a still working 486 voicemail box.

I might have a DIN plug KB. If you're near Galway I'll bother to check (find the box it might be in !)

    Thanks for the replys!

    It's a 6 Pin DIN.

Is it even possible for me to open up the Amstrad, take out the HD and hook it up to, say, my other XP system? Sorry, I'm not that savvy when it comes to the insides of a PC.

@bonzodog2 Thanks for the offer but it may be a little too far to go for a KB. Thanks though! :)
