Not sure is this is in the right thread. But as the title says. I have an opel corsa c 1.2. When I open the bonnet from the lever in side the car it dosent click it seems as if it has already been pulled. But when I go to lift the bonnet up it won't. I am pulling the lever up but nothing is happening.

Any help would be appreciated as I need to get It serviced

    Thanks in advance
    Dave

Do you feel a force when you pull it? Maybe it's after snapping.

Have you tried to get someone to press down on the bonnet while you pull the lever.

Sounds like the mechanism is stuck..

You could try getting WD40 with the straw attchment and do your best to get the mnechanism soaked in freeing oil...

Get a mate, one of you pull the lever to it's max, the other "jiggle" the front of the bonnet up and down and it may do the trick...

Be careful pulling and pulling the lever as it could break or even break the cable... bloody annoying

Realistically you'll just have to request the garage to sort it if you don't have a clue yourself.

It's a common fault on my car that the bonnet cannot be opened as the box where the cable from the inside lever joins two cables that open the bonnet comes away from the mounting point and so there is no tension, realistically I would think no amount of WD40 or anything else will sort you out. Bonnet will need to be opened by removing front grill and going in through the front.

Try the suggestion of having a friend push down near the catch while you pull the cable, that worked for me even when I thought the cable had snapped (it had not).

When closing, don't drop it too hard. Then, make sure to lift it weekly, just to keep it free.
