Why is this not in today's Irish newspapers?

"..Tim Lucey, Gerard Furlong, Eamon O’Brien and David McHugh — were appointed to jobs that now pay €147,961...minister for justice. Kitt said he had recently met David McHugh, a barrister, who was interested in becoming a district..."

Extract from an article in yesterdays Sunday Times. Lists judges on whom written representations were made for appointment.
How come it has not been published by Irish newspapers.

Irish media can be very slow to report any news imo.

It hasn't been reported more widely because of defamation fears I'd say...Obtaining a judge's post through lobbying by TD's could suggest that the judge is not qualified or incompetent or that he / she is potentially corrupt. That would be pretty serious for a person whose impartiality is meant to be above reproach.

One of the District judge's on the list even addressed the article in his court this morning. He apparently was not happy at all although he is known for being quite the character so it's to be expected. I imagine that at the very least, a complaint to the Press Council will be made.
