Express AM22 at 53.0°E

Hi all I am trying to set up a satellite dish to receive the Russian channals on Express AM22 at 53.0°E and I am lost.

I am an absolute novice at this, I have been able to get the Astra's and Hotbird, aswell as others no problem. The trouble is that Express AM22 is not pre programmed into my silvercrest sl 65/12.

So I've used dish pointer to find roughly where to point my dish (Aim for nearby rock formation in the sea :P ) . My balcony is on a hill facing the Irish sea over an open farmland so I have plenty of sky in view. I don't know if I am in the footprint but i have looked at Lyngsat and it appears I am. (Im in Dublin North).

So my silvercrest asks me the following.

    in Satellite setup:

LNB Type - Universal / Standard or User ( Also asks for frequency range )

    22k on/off

    DISEqC 1.0 or 1.1

    DISEqC Switch - x/x

    Positioner - none (I haven't got one)

    Polarity- v, h , or h/v

    In TP Scan it Says

    TP Index 1/1
TP Frequency 11044 (I set this from lyngsat)
Symbol Rate 44951 ( An uneducated guess)
    Polarity V

I don't know what the correct settings will be. Can someone please enlighten me? My missus will be very grateful, to me of course as I will take all the credit ;)

Just a guess would say you need a very
large dish for that check dishpointer it says
says 120cm for some beams the rest are out of reach ?

Just tested on my motor and yes you can pick up a good share of Russian stuff on 53e. Quite a bit of arabic stuff too.
Your LNB is universal with setting of 10250 to 12500 if needed.
    22K should be on
Switches and positioner don't matter if you've only one lnb.
    Polarity is H&V

TP index means nothing other than TP 1 of 1 later it'll be 23 of 40 etc.

TP Freq is the BOLD 5 digit number on the left side of lyngsat
Polarity is the BOLD Letter on the left side
Symbol rate is 4/5 digit number in thousands in the sr-fec column.

Usually you need the FEC displayed as a "fraction" ie 3/4 or 7/8.

Use Transponder 11044 V 44950 3/4 as a reference as it was the strongest I received.

After a lot of perseverance I managed to get two channels Funoon on 11528 and Arzu on 11660 but not very strong. I used to get the Russians etc on the Wide Europe beam but not a peep now. The bad news for Ryuken is that AFAIK the Silvercrest does not support symbol rates above 35000 so he would need another receiver for the 11044 transponder. But he can try the ones I got or others.

Tomslick what size is your dish and what receiver have you please? I have a Triax 1.1 m, Black Ultra LNB and AzBox in Dundalk.

Hello DXhound. I'm using a Triax 1.1, vu solo, smart twin lnb on motor. Using the latest Vhannable settings. I got a good share of channels varying from crystal clear to major breakup to no signal.

I was trying to get Yahsat at 52.5 East but got nothing as a separate satellite. But when I added the tp's to 53 East I got good signals on 11881 and 11981.
