Van door doesnt open from the outside!

    Hi all!

I recently rubbed the passengers door of my vw caddy off the front wall of the house. Now it left a small tear (nothing major) but naturally it pushed in the door panel a bit. Since the incident, the door would no longer open from the outside, but did so from the inside, no probs at all. The outside panel damage has since been repaired and now all that's left to do is put the inside of the door back together again. The problem now is before we can put the inside of the door back together, we need to solve the mystery of why it would not open from the outside after the bang. Anyone with any ideas and more importantly how to fix it?

    Thanks in advance.

Surely whoever repaired the damage should have had a look at this, presumably a panel beater and/or spray painter were involved, the door opening would/should very much so be their cup of tea.

Anyway, it's a lever popping a lock, with the door dissassembled it should be easy to see what's not working.

It was just my dad and myself doing the repair job. Ive just been back from the mechanic now actually. I dropped it over has it needs a new fuel sensor and asked him if he could maybe piece the inside of the door back together while he was at it. It was really funny/.embarrassing actually. After i spent 10 minutes explaining to the guy about the problem with the door, he walked up to it and it simply opened:o. Couldnt bloody believe it. my dad and i hadnt bothered to check it after we had done the panel repair. My mechanic did say however we fcuked up the window regulator:o
Will that be a big/expensive job?
