I have some goods I got for free that I wish to resell , Do I charge VAT on them ? , can I sell them without VAT to make the price more attractive to customers, I know I couldnt do that if i claimed the vat back when purchasing them, but considering I didnt ?

Depends on a number of things:
    • What the goods are,
    • Are you VAT registered in your own name already?
    • The value of the goods you intend to sell?

Do you mind me asking how you acquired these goods for free? Is there a CAT issue to consider?

they were given to me by a company who wanted them disposed of , theyre computer monitors , not of huge value , but they still work and just needed a bit of a clean , theyre value would be maybe 50-60 euro at best. I am VAT reg'd

Are we talking €50 - €60 in total? If so I wouldn't be worried!

The question is whether the sale of the goods is a taxable supply for VAT purposes -

The VATCA 2010 provides that VAT is chargeable, leviable, and payable on the following transactions:
    • The supply for consideration of goods by a taxable person acting in that capacity when the place of supply is the State.

If the supply is for the furtherance of business (which I assume it is) then you should charge VAT at the appropriate rate.
