Just wondering if anyone might know why Meteor has increased the price of a number of its handsets by at least €50 on billpay. For example the SGS2 was €169 last week on its cheapest smartphone plan but is now up to a €219, same with the HTC sensation. Cheaper handsets like the Desire S and Xperia Arc are up from €119 to €169 on the same plan. The LG Optimus 3D has gone from €139 (I think) to €199.

Pretty shocking from Meteor in fairness. I assume its been done as Christmas is nearing and maybe also to perhaps persuade upgraders and new customes to take a 2yr iphone plan instead.

I was going to switch to meteor with two phones due to cheap phones but this recent increase pushed me to stay with three....stupid move tbh as many of my frieds were going to sign up with meteor. From the other hand, meteor must make money and giving phones for "free" will not fix the financial problem...

All networks seem to be doing this now. Which is (lol) a shame.

I was thinking to finally tie myself in with meteor when new WP7 handsets come out. But if they keep up with these prices. Id rather just buy a sim free one myself and keep the freedom of being able to move or just go back to prepay

I bought 2 phones recently at good price from.... Vodafone. I think it better to buy whoever you like, unlock and then use with network you like (the cheapest one)

Probably so they can have a "sale".

I bought a phone from meteor a few months ago (Galaxy S2), but while I was waiting for it to come back in to stock the price dropped by about € 60-70 i think. I just got lucky. Maybe the last few months were just a 'sale' and now prices have returned towards a normal level, rather than the other way round?
