    Seem to all (Facebook, gmail etc) have stopped on my Desire S apart from twitter. Apart from re-booting any suggestions as to a cure?

    I noticed my notifications stopped working before when my phone was low on internal memory. Maybe might be an idea to check this out on your phone?

    Have you checked.

    Menu - Settings - Accounts & sync
    and
    check Background data is ticked and check that the accounts you have a problem with have the green icon beside them.

    FOund the problem, it was the advanced app killer that was causing the problem

    They really shouldnt be installed on the phone. Task management hasnt been an issue for a long time but so many blogs/magazines & people have them on their must have list :/
