Cant access Google search

I hhve both Internet Explorer and Chrome on my computer and neither one will allow me to access google.ie, google.co.uk or google.com. When I put in those addresses in the address bar this mesaage comes up 404 Not Found and under it in small letters is nginx Google is the only website that I cant get onto but was set as my default search engine. Anyone any ideas or possible solutions that I could try

I think its a problem with the host file. You cold use a program called combofi and run a scan or edit the host file yourself. Discussed here http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/youtube/thread?tid=7023358a696f4afd&hl=en

Cheers for that link was a few different recomendations on things to do so tried 3 of them but not sure which one actually worked but can access google.ie now

Make sure to run a virus/malware scan if you had to edit the hosts file to get things back to normal. Allot of the times its viruses that cause this. You can try using Malwarebytes, Super anti spyware and Eset online scanner to check your PC for viruses
